LP Director Huff Participates in Annual Seminar of Saudi Infiltration into American's National Infrastructure
EMET TV https://www.legal-project.org/1891/lp-director-huff-participates-in-annual-seminar Sarah Stern, President of the Endowment for Middle East Truth (EMET), organized and moderated the event. It was held at the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, DC on September 11, 2010. Featured speakers included: Frank Gaffney (President- Center for Security Policy), discussing Sharia compliant finance; Ali Aliyami, offering firsthand knowledge of the state of human rights in Saudi Arabia: and Ray Locker of the Investigative Project on Terrorism, discussing what they have uncovered. Legal Project Director, Daniel Huff, focused on how Saudi radicals have used predatory libel suits to silence their critics and chill experts studying sources of terror financing. He traced the tactic back to the struggle for civil rights when segregationists used libel suits to try to stifle coverage of the struggle against discrimination. He also examined a bill Congress passed in July 2010 to protect U.S. authors from the threat of suit in foreign countries less protective of free speech rights.
